The Property
Luxury Holiday Home nr Watergate Bay
Inside
A recently renovated charming period holiday home just a short drive from Watergate Bay offering spacious comfort with chic interiors.
- Style: Original period features combined with stylish modern design
- Layout: A wonderful sense of space, the grandeur of the house offers generous living areas to enable you all to spread out. From the welcoming traditional hallway follow your way past the original stairs to the hub of the kitchen or to the comforts of the spacious drawing room. The first floor is accessible from either the main stairs or the butlers stairway.
- Bedrooms: Chose from six beautifully furnished bedrooms on the first floor. Three double bedrooms (1 ensuite and 1 four-poster) with superking beds and two twin bedded rooms welcome the rural valley views through the celestial windows complete with deep window seats. The last bedroom towards the rear of the house is an adult sized twin bunk room, again enjoying rural views. All of the bedrooms are well appointed and most have beautiful original French armoires.
- Bathrooms: Three bathrooms have been decked out with oversized rain showers, 2 have stand alone baths and 1 has a large shower. The clever use of Cornish stone against the fresh white walls and stainless steel fittings is truly beautiful. One of the bathrooms leads to a double bedded room but is accessible via a second door to others.
- For relaxation: Find your sun trap and unwind as the house buzzes around you. Relax fireside in the cooler months and relive those board game days.
- For recreation: Follow the woodland trail from the house leading down to the valley stream below, hideaway in the den with a favourite film or simply enjoy the fun of the house with your nearest and dearest.
- Practicalities: washer and dryer, outside shower, boot room, wet gear storage, dishwasher, microwave, additional fridge/freezer space. Parking for up to 6 cars.
Outside
The woodland location set high overlooking the picturesque village of St Mawgan offers great views and a lovely sense of space. The house sits within 6.5 acres of woodland and lawns. A dedicated sun terrace area, sheltered by the house, is a great al fresco dining spot with comfortable seating and BBQ. Beyond, the garden slopes down through the woodland area, please note that this area is not enclosed but is away from the house.
Food and Wine
- DIY: The more contemporary style kitchen is a real hub to the house, well lit and well equipped. The large modern cooker is idyllic when cooking for larger groups, the central island unit enables all to get stuck in with their holiday duties. The large open hatch to the dining room ensures the rest of your party can experience your flair in the kitchen or slide closed when the heat is on! The smaller pantry style room just off the kitchen has an additional butlers sink and storage, great for large party catering.
- In house cuisine: Catering is available at an additional cost and is to be arranged direct with the caterers. We are able to provide you with contacts for recommended caterers on request.
- Eating out: You are spoiled for choice to say the least, with both Jamie Oliver's 15 and Rick Stein's seafood restaurant both 15 mins from your doorstep its a difficult decision for the group. The Falcon Inn just a stroll down the hill offers lovely pub grub with a sunny beer garden or if you are happy to leave the waiters to it then grab a bag of fish and chips Cornish style and sit on the quay at Padstow.
- Wine: A visit to the nearby Camel Valley near Wadebridge is a must, sit on the sunny terrace and sip their award winning Camel Valley Brut. The beautifully elegant Camel Valley Bacchus is the perfect sundowner and great for that picnic on the beach.
