Outside

Attached on one side to a former mill house which also runs as a small B&B, Kingfisher Folly is set in a 28 acre, secluded wooded valley rich with wildlife – look out for red deer, buzzards, kingfisher, dragonflies and occasionally the otter and stoat during your stay. The property is entirely private and enjoys its own extensive waterside gardens. Recline on a lounger on the terrace to make the most of the tranquil setting.

• Eating out:  There are many charming village pubs and restaurants to explore within a short distance of the property. The Fox and Goose at Parracombe and The Poltimore Inn at Yarde Down (both around a 10 min drive from the cottage) are well worth a visit.

• Head to the long sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde and Woolacombe to watch the waves roll in or to take to the water for a spot of surfing (within ½ hr) Coombe Martin beach is just 15 minutes from Kingfisher
• Hartland Abbey, Arlington Court and Castle Drogo are within easy reach
• Visit RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Gardens
